![]() Shoot and hit another player and it now takes 3-4 hits to actually kill - making the game lose its authentic and brutal edge. It has since become more casual with strange squish sounds that play every time you RS2 started off more hardcore than RO2/RS it actually removed some of their more casual features. Overall, I think both games will be played for a good long while but RO2/RS will have the greater legacy. It feels more visceral and the graphics and changes to gameplay can make it much more immersive at times, but it can also be very frustrating to play for people who prefer RO2/RS' slower, more tactical gameplay. ![]() RS2 has faster gameplay and the individual soldier is much more powerful than in RO2/RS since assault rifles are the primary weapon of Riflemen this time around. The mechanics and setting of RO2/RS1 make gameplay a little slower and more reliant on teamwork having to use primarily bolt-action rifles slows gameplay down and limits the power of the individual soldier as well as increasing the threat of MGs. Both are going for a more realistic, lethal shooter: minimal hud, realistic ballistics, high damage models, and large maps. I think both games are great and fun to play, but certainly different flavors of the same concept. I've played a ton of both, over 500 hours in RO2/RS and nearly 300 for RS2.
